Prayer ConcernLarry Stanton, one of our own GRR ABMen, and his wife Becky are Missionaries currently serving with IM partners Hungarian Baptist Aid and the Baptist Union of Hungary. They work with schools in the eastern region of the country – primary and elementary community schools in Téglás and a technical high school in Debrecen. natThe Stantons provide the students and staff with instruction and conversation practice in English and maintenance support. In addition to classroom responsibilities, Larry and Becky participate in school activities and are involved in Christian outreach. Their three daughters attend local schools, learning Hungarian and also teaching English as only children can. |
GRR ABMen MinistriesDisaster ReliefSince our restart in 2004, when we brought out of "moth balls" the 18-wheeler that had been dedicated and put into service in 1996, this ministry has involved 998 volunteers at 731 sites for 366.5 days in 71 communities. Some 19,779.5 volunteer hours of free labor were given to help clean up from floods, ice storms, tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes. To learn more about how you can participate, contact Van Peters at 309-212-8797. Upcoming Work ProjectsContact Ellis Loper at 217-414-9467 for more information or to volunteer for these upcoming scheduled projects. No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and, most importantly, be the hands and feet of Jesus. Work projects are planned each year for Judson University in Elgin and University Baptist Church in Champaign. Contact Ellis Loper at 217-414-9467 for more information about participating in these upcoming scheduled projects. National ABMen MinistriesNew Commandment Men's MinistryNew Commandment Men's Ministry is for your home church as you minister to Care Receivers (elderly, widowed and single parents) in your congregation. Teams of 3 or 4 Care Givers are formed for each Care Receiver. All of the teams meet one Saturday a month for breakfast, prayer, Bible study and then go out into the homes of their Care Receivers to complete home repairs, yard work and numerous other projects that may need done around the home. Contact Terry Maurizio at 217-853-0651 or email gooutinjoy@hotmail.com for more information. Men's Prayer BreakfastMost churches observe the Men's Prayer Breakfast (PDF) with a breakfast prepared by the men and boys of the church and a time of praying together as a whole or in groups. Some areas of our ministry combine with other churches, or observe an association-wide event. Contact Dean Edwards at 815-721-7791 for more information |
